An attempt at tracing the use of ampersand and its association with the most commonly used conjunction ‘and’. Design began by observing the ampersand character in different typefaces. The idea of ampersand began by combining ‘e’ and ‘t’ from the french word ‘et’ (and). This was further stylized and is now recognized as the 27th character of the English alphabet by some schools.
